A Lurgan man who tried to headbutt a police officer has received a two months jail sentence.
Dylan Carvalho (21), of Brookvale Walk, pleaded guilty to attempting to assault a police officer.
A defence lawyer told Craigavon Magistrates’ Court the defendant had been intoxicated on September 29 last year and it had been “unsavoury behaviour”.
He said the defendant had already served a number of months in custody on remand.
Handing down a jail term, District Judge Michael Ranaghan said any attack on police is a serious matter.
