A Lurgan-based intermediate-level football club have announced the arrival of their new first team manager, Armagh man, Shea Campbell.
Oxford Sunnyside FC – formerly playing within the NIFL Premier Intermediate League – said they are “delighted” to welcome Campbell to their grounds at Knockramer Park.
With changes to the Northern Ireland Football League structure for the 2026–27 season, the NIFL Premier Intermediate League has since been disbanded, and a new NI third tier has emerged under the banner of Northern Amateur Football League– naming it the National Conference League Premier (NCL Premier).
Oxford Sunnyside FC have now been selected among the new 12 team League to compete in the NCL Premier.
This will begin a new chapter in the club’s history as participants of the inaugural National Conference League. The winner of the NCL Premier, and the runner-up slots will be promoted to the NIFL Championship for the 2027–28 season.
Putting their best foot forward in-line with the changes, the club say Campbell arrives at the club with a “proven pedigree at the highest levels of the local game, both as a player and manager”.
Campbell has moved into the role under “reorganisation” of the Senior football structure within the club, meaning former Manager, Paddy McCrory will now take on the role of Football Director.
Of Campbell’s appointment, Paddy said: “We are delighted to welcome Shea to the club. His career both as a player and manager speaks for itself.
“Shea is someone who is driven, hard working and comes with a track record of success.
“For me, Shea was the stand out candidate for the managerial post, we had some really constructive and positive conversations prior to his appointment and he shares the same ambition and vision that we do.
“I’m confident that Shea is the right man to lead us forward and to build on our clubs successes in recent years”.
Campbell formerly held the position of First Team Manager of Armagh City Football Club for five-and-a-half years.
He departed Holm Park in November 2024 by by “mutual agreement” with Senior coaching staff.
During his time with the club, he oversaw a period of significant development, including promotion to the NIFL Championship and lifting the Bob Radcliffe Cup in the 2020/21 season.
