A successful Lurgan-based GAA club has expressed its intention to considerably expand their existing facilities.
Current Armagh senior football champions, Clann Eireann GFC – based off North Circular Road – has submitted the ‘Proposal of Application Notice’ (PAN) to Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration… and the council have already determined the suitability for an application to proceed.
The plans – which were submitted in the name of club Chairperson Ms Roisin Bell – are proposing the development of a new GAA sports pitch with associated drainage and fencing at lands opposite 34-44 North Circular Road.
The club is also requesting permission to construct a two-storey GAA club pavilion including changing rooms, toilets, a meeting room, and ancillary facilities at the home club of Armagh GAA stars Barry McCambridge, Conor Turbitt and Tiernan Kelly.
In addition, the scheme will also include provision for on-site car parking, dedicated pedestrian and vehicular access from the public road, internal access paths, and all associated landscaping works across a site extending to 1.9 hectares.
The plans for the development will go to a community consultation at Tannaghmore Primary School on Monday, July 21 from 3pm to 8pm.
Further details and a digital version of the proposal will also be available via the architect’s website at https://www.mccreanorandcoarchitects.com.
