Detectives investigating a stabbing incident at a house at Castleview in Gilford this morning (Sunday) have a charged a man.
The 24-year-old man has been charged with a a number of offences including attempted murder, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, criminal damage and assault.
Police had been called to the house shortly before 3am.
A man aged in his 30s sustained a number of stab wounds as a result of the incident and is currently in hospital receiving treatment.
The man who has been charged is due to appear at Newry Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Monday), February 1.
As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
