A man accused of two attempted hijackings and possessing a blade in public to face the crown court.
The man appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court, via videolink from Maghaberry, today (Friday 17) for the purposes of a preliminary enquiry (PE), the legal process during which a case is referred to the higher court.
Nathan O’Hare, 28, of Riverside Meadows in Ballynahinch is charged with one count possessing an article with a blade/point in a public place and two counts of attempted hijacking.
It is alleged that the offences took place on October 16 of last year in Lurgan.
Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.
Defence counsel made no contrary submissions.
District Judge Bernie Kelly, satisfied there was a prima facie case to answer, committed the man in custody to appear at Craigavon Crown Court on September 20.
