A man is currently being questioned by police after a woman was found dead at a house in Co Armagh yesterday evening (Tuesday).
The woman’s body was found a property in the Dill Avenue area of Lurgan.
Police are continuing to make inquiries into the woman’s death and said the man they arrested is helping them with that investigation.
The cause of the woman’s death remains unknown at this stage.
However, a PSNI spokesperson said: “A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out to establish cause of death.
“A man has been arrested and remains in custody this morning assisting with inquiries.”
Upper Bann MLA Carla Lockhart said: “My first thoughts are with the family of the deceased lady. This is a very sad time for them and I would ask they are given some privacy to grieve their loss.
“The death of a family member at any time is sad but particularly so when it is sudden and the cause of death uncertain.
“I have been liaising with the PSNI and am aware that someone remains in custody following an arrest yesterday. Investigations are ongoing and a post mortem will be carried out.
“I would encourage anyone who has any information to come forward to the PSNI and report it.”
