A man has been arrested for attempted murder following a serious attack in Co Armagh last night (Monday).
The victim is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital after taking a number of blows to the head and body.
The incident happened in the Derrytrasna area of the county.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “One male has been arrested and is in custody for attempted murder, wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon after a stabbing in Derrytrasna.
“The victim is stable in hospital having suffered multiple wounds to his head, body and hand.
“Excellent work by A section in locating, containing, restraining and arresting the suspect without further incident whilst another crew provided first aid and dealt with significant blood loss for half an hour whilst our NIAS colleagues were on route.
“Medics, crime fighters and investigators all in one go.
“Great job by all, and we wish a speedy recovery to the victim.”
