A man was shot in the head as a flurry of shots rained through the front window of a house in Craigavon in the early hours of this morning (Monday).
The 31-year-old is currently in intensive care battling for his life in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast following the attack in Carrigart Crescent at around 1.45am.
The incident follows on from a similar attack in Poyntzpass last week, however, police have not officially linked the two incidents at this time.
The car involved in this morning’s attack was stolen in the Dublin area in December and is using false registration plates.
Chief Inspector Jon Burrows confirmed the injured man was shot in the head and has appealed for information.
“At the moment we have no motive, no suspects,” he confirmed. “We are looking for the communities’ help in finding out what the motivation of this is.
“We are open minded as to who did it.
“Early indications are that this was a planned attack. A vehicle has been sourced and potentially automatic weapons were used and a vehicle was burnt out so a degree of planning has went into this.”
Police are investigating a possible link to a silver Skoda car, which was seen in the Carrigart area before the shooting and a car later found burnt out at the Newline area.
