A Lurgan man who caused damage to multiple items in a hospital and assaulted a female has been warned there is every chance he could be going to prison.

The 21-year-old was disorderly in Lurgan Hospital where he damaged fire extinguishers, a picture and two doors.

James Brady, of Kilvoragh Park, pleaded guilty to four counts of criminal damage, disorderly behaviour, attempted criminal damage and common assault at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

The particulars outlined that all offences occurred on November 2.

Brady also attempted to cause damage to a cell camera belonging to the PSNI and assaulted a female.

Deputy District Judge Philip Mateer commented: “Criminal damage, attempted criminal damage and assault in a hospital, I think I am going to need a pre-sentence report.”

Defence counsel replied: “I would think so.”

Addressing the defendant, Deputy District Judge Mateer said: “Given that this happened in a hospital there is every chance you are going to prison.”

The case was adjourned until January 17 for sentencing.
