Around 75 new homes could be built in Lurgan as part of a multi-million pound investment in the local housing sector.
Proposals have been drawn up for an expansive site on “lands north of Francis Street, East of Silverwood Avenue and west of Headington Manor”. It lies north of the Belfast-Dublin railway line.
The application falls within the ‘major’ category of development.
And, as such, a pre-application notice has been lodged with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.
Full details of what is being proposed is due to be unveiled at a public information event early next month at Joyce Clarke Estate Agents in Portadown.
Members of the design team will be available to talk through details of the proposed development and respond to questions.
The applicant is Lurgan-based D Gilmore Developments Ltd.
Full approval – which will be sought after the public consultation event is concluded – will be sought for around 75 houses of differing types.
The application will also include associated site works, infrastructure, public open space and
landscaping.
An online public consultation facility will also be in place until early October ahead of a full and formal planning application being lodged.
