New safety measures outside primary school a welcome addition

New safety measures outside a Co Armagh primary school have been welcomed sight.

DUP MLA Carla Lockhart says she’s delighted with the commencement of the work on a new guard rail, which has been installed at the bottom of Mill Hill in Waringstown.

This was something the Upper Bann representative had made representations on previously and it has now come to fruition.

Given the close proximity of the primary school and the heavy traffic flow in Waringstown at school times this new rail will help with the safety of both parents and children.

“I welcome this new safety measure in the village and will continue to assess areas around the school to try and ensure the children are safe,” said Ms Lockhart.

“There is a crossing facility nearby and there is a responsibility on parents and carers to show a good road safety example to the children and use this.

“I would also encourage motorists to drive with care particularly when there are children around.”
