Two Co Armagh primary schools look set to benefit from improved parking and safety measures.
Planning applications have been submitted in relation to Bleary Primary School, Lurgan, and Ballyoran Primary in Portadown.
In relation to Bleary, which is located on Deans Road, the plan is to carry out improvements to existing drop off areas at the school, as well as parking and footpaths within the school site.
There will also be a new pedestrian access provided from Deans Road.
In terms of parking, there will be a new dedicated staff car park, as well as additional provision for visitors too.
There will also be new footpaths and pedestrian crossing points provided within the primary school grounds.
A few miles down the road and all at Ballyoran Primary School will also be hoping to witness welcome new changes.
The intention there is to construct a new car park consisting of 26 spaces.
There would also be two new drop off zones and two new wheelchair accessible ramps.
There would be a five new LED lantern floodlights – each 13 metres tall – to illuminate the grounds.
And at the same time, a one-way access will be provided from Ashgrove Road, with one-way exit out onto Ballyoran Park.
All siteworks and landscaping within the school grounds are incorporated into the proposals.
The applications are now with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration.
