Officers protecting ‘integrity’ of murder scene attacked with petrol bombs

Incident happened around 9pm on Wednesday night

Police officers protecting “the integrity” of a murder scene in county Armagh were targeted with petrol bombs on Wednesday night.

According to the Newsletter a small number of police officers had petrol bombs thrown at them on Victoria Street.

Tactical Support Group were called in to help following the incident around 9pm last night.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “They landed on the road and no one was injured

“Police officers were holding the integrity of the crime scene.

“There were only a handful of officers there at the time.”

The area was cleared at 10.15pm.

The man arrested over the killing at the weekend has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Detectives had been granted extra time to question the victim’s twin brother.

It is understood the men, both 45, are originally from Lithuania.

The death, which happened at a flat on Victoria Street, was reported to police shortly after 2.15pm on Sunday.
