Police in county Armagh have seized a pup after after claims it was subjected to unwarranted abuse and cruelty.
Officers in Lurgan took the puppy in Lurgan area after a video, circulating online, appeared to show a woman mistreating the dog.
Police confirmed they are investigating the incident.
Posting the images of a small blue Staffordshire Bull Terrier on Facebook, a spokesperson said: “You may recognise this little guy from a video that’s done the rounds on social media this evening.
“Thanks to those who reported it, here he is pictured in the safe arms of ‘A’, who I’m told he’s taken a bit of a shine to!
“Little puppy is now safe with a recognised breeder.
“An investigation is now underway and his owner will be answering some questions about animal cruelty offences.”
Inspector Jon Burrows also tweeted: “Be assured we’re actively investigating & making swift progress.”
