Three people arrested following seizure of drugs and large quantity of cash

Three people were arrested following the discovery of drugs and a large sum of money in north Armagh last night (Monday).

Officers from the District Support Team (DST) searched a house in Russell Drive area of Lurgan, uncovering the contraband.

Approximately £200 worth of cannabis resin was discovered, along with drugs paraphernalia and a large quantity of cash.

A man armed with a knife was also arrested trying to gain entry to the property.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Dealers don’t care about their community. They don’t care about those in it. For them, it’s about lining their pockets, and protecting their ill gotten gains in whatever way they can.

“When you think about dealing, don’t just think about the user. Think about all of the users and how the dealer is doing nothing but using them to further a criminal lifestyle for himself.

“Stand up to dealers. Say no to dealers. To do that, just lift the phone to us and dial 101, call into your local station, PM the page, or call Crimestoppers totally anonymously on 0800555111.

“Last night was the result of the local community doing just that. Three arrests were made, thanks to someone doing their bit to combat the scourge of drug dealing.”
