Tributes have been pouring in for a “beautiful soul” and popular barman who passed away suddenly on Friday (February 21) at his Lurgan home.
Andrew Begg had been a former barman at both Fa Joe’s pub and St. Paul’s Gaelic Football Club (GFC).
A representative for Fa Joe’s – which will close for a number of hours to allow staff to attend Andrew’s funeral – said: “Our hearts are filled with huge sadness on learning of the passing of our friend and former colleague Andrew Begg.
“The staff and customers just thought the world of Andrew, he lit up any room he came into with his huge personality and infectious smile.
“Our hearts go out to his family and friends, especially Danielle, at this unbelievably sad time. Rest in peace, Andrew, we will never forget you.”
St. Paul’s GFC added: “The committee and members of Naomh Pól CLG deeply regret the death of our former barman Andrew Begg.
“We wish to offer our deepest sympathy to the entire family circle. Mary Queen of the Gael pray for him. Ar dheis lámh De Go raibh a anam uasal.”
Sharing their condolences one person said: “There comes a time in life where you meet people who connect to you more than that of anyone simply because they are better for this earth and destined on a different journey.
“Andrew your soul was the purest I ever came across. Heart goes out to your friends and family.
“Hopefully the kind words everyone has for you can consolidate them in this difficult time.
“Andrew Begg you were one of a kind, a beautiful soul, so many memories so many laughs, rest in peace.”
Another added: “If you were one of the lucky ones to have this beautiful man cross your path keep hold of those memories tight.
“Honestly you are one of a kind Andrew Begg you left a mark wherever you went, you will most definitely never be forgotten.. rest in peace now you big beautiful giant”.
