Two people are this evening being questioned on suspicion of theft after police stopped a suspicious vehicle in Co Armagh earlier today.
Sergeant Mel Gibson said a police patrol spotted a silver Mercedes car being driven erratically on the Banbridge Road at around 1.45pm.
“Officers stopped the vehicle and located a large quantity of suspected stolen items inside, including clothing and pharmaceutical items with the security tags still attached.
“Other items, that experience tells us can be used to commit theft, were also found. All items have now been seized as evidence.
“Two occupants in the vehicle, a 39 year old man and a 25 year old female, were arrested on suspicion of theft and going equipped for theft. They remain in custody at present assisting us with our enquiries.”
