Two rural sites in north Armagh have been identified for social and affordable housing.
The sites are situated in the Derrytrasna and Derrymacash areas, a number of miles outside of Lurgan town centre.
“Everyone has the right to a home and that housing remains a big priority for the SDLP,” said party MLA Dolores Kelly.
“We have been continuing the campaign for increased social and affordable housing right across the constituency of Upper Bann.
“Demand for smaller homes for older people and people with disabilities continues to rise. We have met with a number of housing providers and the NI Housing Executive over the summer months to identify land and possible solutions.”
Party colleague Declan McAlinden added: “A consultation process will be commencing soon for sites opposite Wolfe
Island Terrace and St Mary’s PS Derrytrasna. Details will be in the local press.
“I would encourage all residents to please lend your support to these developments which will help to ensure that our rural communities, schools and sporting organisations continue to be vibrant and sustained in the larger term.”
