A young girl was hospital following a vicious dog attack in Lurgan on Friday evening.
The incident happened in the Richmount Gardens area of the town.
Police confirmed that a girl was bitten during the attack, which is understood to have been carried out by a breed of Pit Bull.
A spokesperson told Armagh I: “The girl was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries to her abdomen, arms and face.
“The matter was referred to the Council dog warden.”
A Council spokesperson added: “Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council can confirm that the Dog Warden Service received a recent complaint in relation to an alleged dog attack incident in the Taghnevan area.
“The Dog Warden commenced an immediate investigation into this incident, which is currently ongoing and is being carried out in line with the council’s Dog Control Enforcement Policy.”
