A 57-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an assault in Newry.
The incident happened at a house in Carnagh Park in the city.
The 27-year-old victim is believed to be in a serious but stable condition in hospital after he was found with stab injuries to his chest shortly before 3am this morning.
The arrested man was also treated for stab injuries to his leg. They are not believed to be life-threatening.
