A man has died following a one-vehicle road collision on the outskirts of Keady earlier this afternoon.
The man has been named locally as Tim Woods.
The 52-year-old was travelling along the Castleblayney Road when his car went off the road near Carnagh Orange Hall.
The accident happened around 4.20pm.
Councillor Darren McNally was a friend of the deceased.
He said: “It’s a sad day for Keady Sinn Fein, one of our members Tim Woods has been tragically taken from us in a road accident.
“I’d like to offer my deepest sympathies on behalf of the McVerry, McElvanna SF Cumman to Laura, Joe and Kerry,
“Tim your witty charm will be forever missed and while the road ahead will not be the same without you here, we will endeavour to carry on the good work that you were very much apart off in this area. Sleep well comrade.”
Diversions remain in place on the Derrynoose Road and Crossnenagh Road.
Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this tragic time.
