A 44 year old man has been charged with attempted murder, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, threats to kill, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, common assault and attempt to commit grievous bodily harm.
He is expected to appear before Newry Magistrates Court tomorrow, Monday, July 28.
A 43 year old man has been charged with aiding and abetting assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault. He is expected to appear before Newry Magistrates Court on Wednesday 20 August.
As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The charges are in connection with the serious assault of a 33 year old female in a house in the Newry Road area of Belleeks early yesterday morning, Saturday, July 26.
