A man is due to appear at Newry Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with a number of offences, including kidnapping.
Detective Inspector Keith Gawley, of the PSNI’s Tactical Crime Unit, said: “Detectives investigating an assault and abduction in Hilltown and the theft of a vehicle in Banbridge yesterday, Friday, March 6, have charged a 29-year-old man with various offences including kidnapping, false imprisonment and attempted robbery.
“He is due to appear at Newry Magistrates Court this morning, Saturday, March 7.”
As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
