A MAN was shot in both legs during an attack in South Armagh shortly after 7pm tonight (Tuesday).
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service confirmed the report of the shooting at Cullyhanna. Medics treated the man at the scene and took him to hospital.
The injured man is believed to be in his 50s and the attack took place at his home, according to Sinn Fein Councillor Colman Burns.
Others are understood to have been present in the property and were said to be shocked.
The man’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Councillor Burns said condemned those responsible, saying: “The community in South Armagh is appalled at this incident and I would urge anyone with information to present it to the authorities.”
“Those responsible for this attack must outline their rationale for doing this and what they hoped to achieve.”
