Gosford Forest Park has been closed to the public.
The popular park at Markethill has attracted huge crowds and at the weekend led to complaints given the number of people and the message on social distancing.
Now Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has closed it.
But not just that, all parks – including their on-site toilets – and all ABC Council-operated golf courses will be closed from today (Tuesday).
The decision has been taken “in line with the Governmental response to COVID-19 and in a bid to protect the citizens of this borough”.
The closures take effect until “further notice”.
An ABC Council spokesperson said: “This decision has been made in the interest of public safety, and to protect the most vulnerable in our society. Please follow the Public Health Authorities (PHA) guidance relating to social distancing.
“During this unprecedented time, we would like to thank you for your support, co-operation and patience.”
The council had previously closed play parks.
A similar move to shut up forest parks, country parks and beaches under the control of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council was taken on Monday afternoon.
