Man arrested after police search uncovers quantity of drugs at Markethill home

A number of police cars swarmed a property in Markethill shortly before lunchtime today (Wednesday).

A house in the Willowdean area of the town was searched following the arrest of a man in connection with the operation.

An eye-witness told Armagh I how a number laptops and phones were taken from the property by officers around midday.

Police later confirmed that a 33-year-old was arrested for a number of drugs offences.

A PSNI spokesperson told Armagh I: “A quantity of drugs were found at a house in the area.

“A number of items were also seized as part of the investigation.

“The man is currently assisting police with their inquiries.”
