A Markethill man accused of a series of serious sexual offences against a young boy – including four counts of rape – has been released on bail.
Adrian Gourley is charged with 10 offences alleged to have taken place on various dates between 2009 and 2014.
He is also accused of a further single count of sexual assault on Christmas Day 2017.
The 61-year-old appeared before Dungannon Magistrates’ Court earlier this week to face the charges which include: four counts of rape; two of attempted rape; and single counts each of sexual assault; making an indecent image of a child; sexual communication with a child; and inciting a child to engage in a sexual act.
Gourley is accused of attempting to rape the boy in June 2009. On dates unknown in the summer of 2010, he allegedly communicated sexually with the boy, intentionally incited him to engage in sexual activity and made an indecent photograph.
In 2013, the accused allegedly raped the boy on three occasions and attempted to rape him on another. He faces another count of rape in 2014 and, on Christmas Day 2017, a single count of sexual assault.
Gourley was released on bail and the case against him will now be heard in the Crown Court later this year.
