A second new glamping site could be en route for Markethill, Armagh I can reveal.
Following the creation of glamping facilities within Gosford, a private developer has now indicated hopes to establish a new facility just outside the boundary of the award-winning forest park.
The earmarked location is a stone’s throw from Gosford, which has undergone an amazing transformation – with more to come – to create a five-star tourist destination.
Now proposals have been drawn up for a glamping site which would consist of five pods.
These will be located 70m east of 171 Mullaghbrack Road, Markethill – close to the junction with the Gosford Road.
The earmarked site is described at present as an “existing yard”.
The plan is for a new glamping attraction complete with a shower and toilet building, which would include an office, as well as ancillary works.
The proposals have been submitted to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration in the name of Cathal Curran.
The council has completed work on its glamping facilities within the forest park and these are available for bookings.
This latest facility would – if approved – increase available accommodation in the area with the plans now to be publicly advertised next week.
