Staff at the newly-renovated shower block in Gosford Forest Park were left cleaning up this “shocking” mess left behind on Saturday.
Dirt was plastered all over the cubicles of the shower ports, with muddy water flooding the entire block, making in impossible to avoid for anyone else – including campers – on the site.
“This is what awaited our staff this morning in the shower block,” said a Forest staff member.
“This is unacceptable, these showers are everyone to use. Please be responsible when using the faculty.”
Cusher DUP Councillor Gareth Wilson slammed those responsible for the mess.
“I was so shocked to see the pictures and it is so annoying for the staff who put their all into running Gosford in what are difficult circumstances due to Covid19,” he said.
“The newly renovated shower blocks are not long completed and have been such a great improvement to the camping facility – what a shocking scene to be greeted by.”
He added: “It is absolutely unacceptable and beyond ridiculous that someone could leave a facility like this and just walk away and let someone else clean it it up.
“Gosford is really taking off as an activity forest park and it’s unfair on the hundreds of campers who use the site respectfully and look after it.
“The staff who dealt with this clean up so efficiently deserve great credit and the hardworking team at Gosford is why it’s such a great place to visit.”
