A tractor of huge sentimental value to its owner was stolen in Poyntzpass, county Armagh overnight.
The tractor, which belonged to the farmer’s late son, was taken from the Ballyraigh Road sometime between 8pm on Sunday evening and 5am this morning.
The wheels have been freshly painted on the blue Newholland TS 115.
The owner has made a desperate appeal to Armagh I for any information.
If you can help or know anything, please contact police on 101.
Ulster Unionist MLA Danny Kennedy said the incident was distressing for the family involved.
“This latest episode is particularly sickening, given that it involved the theft of a tractor which was owned by the son of the family, who died in tragic circumstances a number of years ago,” he said.
“The theft has greatly distressed the family because of the personal circumstances involved.
“I have a forthcoming meeting with senior Police representatives at which I will highlight my concerns about the level of rural crime in the constituency, and I will be pressing for more resources to be deployed by the PSNI to combat the situation.”
