Motorists are being urged to “exercise patience” on roads surrounding Markethill after a person was rushed to hospital following a serious road traffic collision.
The incident occurred on the Gosford Road shortly before 11am today (December 3) – which was subsequently closed with diversions put in place.
Councillor Bróna Haughey has now pleaded with the public to “exercise patience” this evening as the roads around Markethill remain closed.
The Cllr added: “My thoughts are with everyone affected, particularly the individual taken to hospital, and I hope for their full and speedy recovery.
“Police are currently at the scene.
“I will continue to work closely with police and will provide further updates as more information becomes available.”
