The sun’s out and hundreds have flocked to Gosford Forest Park.
However, the ongoing problem of motorists parking on the hard shoulder has reared its head again!
For months Armagh I have highlighted the continuing issue of people unwilling to pay the entrance fee to the park on the edge of Markethill.
The problem with that is that it leaves the hard shoulder pretty precarious for oncoming traffic and pedestrians; pedestrians that shouldn’t be there.
And this afternoon (Sunday) is no different as dozens of vehicles have opted to plonk themselves on the hard shoulder in order to waive the £5 parking fee.
But the PSNI in Armagh seem to be finally cracking down on this custom and offering their own roadside fee.
A message posted on their Facebook page – along with the photo above – simply read: “Spot the danger. Heading back to pick up my ticket book. Con K.”
Let’s hope this acts as a meaningful deterrent before anyone is seriously injured or worse.
