The A1 has been closed following a two-vehicle road accident outside Newry this afternoon (Friday).
Police have confirmed the accident, which happened on the northbound carriageway between Newry and Banbridge, close to the Derrycraw Road junction.
Emergency services are currently on the scene.
Motorists have been advised to avoid the area with delays expected into the evening.
The Air-Ambulance has also been called and is currently in attendance at the scene with the road closed in both directions.
