The Air Ambulance is at the scene of a road traffic collision on the A1.
It happened on the northbound carriageway at Newry, near its junction with the Camlough Road.
The A1 is closed in both directions, from Sheepsbridge to Camlough Road.
Police are describing the incident as “serious” and are advising of delays in the area.
A spokesperson said: “Please seek an alternative route if possible.
There are no further details at present.
