Thinking of heading to Newry to watch the annual St Patrick’s Day parade?
Well, if you want to catch the start of the parade, you’ll need to head to the Quays Shopping Centre on the Albert Basin for 12 noon.
This cross-community event, the centrepiece of the celebration, will be a spectacular cavalcade of floats, bands, fancy dress and lots of attractions!
This year’s theme will be ‘Myths & Legends’
A free fun-day will begin at 10am in the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre and will run until 3pm.
Entertainment includes traditional music by ‘Sonas Harp Ensemble’ and Henry McDonald and Friends.
There will be a free children’s arts & crafts workshops as well as other entertainment.
There will be more family fun on Hill Street between 1-5pm.
Head along there to celebrate St Patrick with Irish Dancers / Tribal Drummers / Facepainting / Stalls and much more.
There will be an open-air concert throughout the day and the free acts include: Oisin McCann & Friends 1pm – 2pm; Those Guys 2pm – 3pm and HouseM8s from 3pm – 5pm.
At the Newry and Mourne Museum there will be a clay arts and crafts workshop for children.
This will involve children making their own designs and pendants, so dress for mess.
