Anthony Hillen, Bessbrook was the lucky winner of Southern Area Hospice Services ‘Win a CLIO’ competition which was supported by Shelbourne Motors and AbbeyAutoline.

The draw took place on Saturday, November 6 at Shelbourne Motors in Newry with the Deputy Chairperson of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, Councillor Oonagh Magennis in attendance to verify the draw.

Anthony was absolutely thrilled to receive the phone call on Saturday announcing him as the winner of our beautiful new Renault Clio and shockingly replied with “is this someone winding me up”.

Anthony called to Shelbourne Motors on Monday to then arrange collection of his prize. As well as a new car which was supported by Shelbourne Motors, Anthony also won one year’s free insurance generously sponsored by AbbeyAutoline.

Speaking about his win, Anthony said: “I’m absolutely delighted to win this wee car, it was an utter surprise when I got a phone call on Saturday about winning it. I’m really delighted, thank you very much.”

Speaking of their support of the Car Competition, Ronan Marshall, Group Marketing Manager at Shelbourne Motors said: “We are thrilled to have been involved with this fantastic fundraising drive for the Southern Area Hospice.

“As a local business with 150 employees working and living within the area, many of our colleagues and customers have had first-hand experience of the outstanding work that the Hospice provides. Every single entry into the ‘Win a CLIO’ competition has helped in some way towards this service and we are delighted to have had the opportunity to supply the prize. On behalf of the entire team at Shelbourne Motors I would like to congratulate Anthony and wish him all the best with his prize.”

Everyone at Southern Area Hospice would like to congratulate Anthony on his win and wish him well with his new car. In response to the many Facebook replies to the winner announcement, Anthony is quite obviously perceived as a very worthy winner.

Southern Area Hospice Services has continued to provide the highest level of Hospice care to patients and their families through these very difficult times, and it is only with people supporting campaigns such as their car competition that they can do this. All the money raised through the car competition will enable them to continue their work providing care and support to local people.

Southern Area Hospice Services would like to extend thanks to Shelbourne Motors and AbbeyAutoline for their continued support. They also wish to thank Buttercrane Shopping Centre, The Quays, Dunnes Stores Monaghan Street, and The Oaks Centre, Dungannon for their help and support with the car competition. Thanks are also extended to MacMac Media who created fantastic video content throughout the campaign and to the Deputy Chairperson of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, Councillor Oonagh Magennis.

Also, a final word of appreciation and thanks to every single person who purchased an entry and helped to raise vital funds for Southern Area Hospice Services.
