Charity money stolen during break-in at Co Armagh primary school

A sum of money – including charity takings – was stolen during a break-in at a county Armagh primary school in the early hours of this morning (Monday).

Police in Newry have appealed to the public for information following the report of a burglary at Jonesborough Primary School, in the village.

The incident occurred sometime over night – in the small hours of the morning.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “PSNI are appealing for any information in relation to a burglary at Jonesborough Primary school in the early hours of this morning.

“A sum of cash was stolen, some of which was sponsorship money for a charity event.
