The father of a 12-year-old girl who passed away following a beach buggy accident in Newry paid tribute to his “baby girl” at her funeral earlier today (Wednesday).
Nicole Fegan was laid to rest following the tragic accident on the Flagstaff Road on Saturday afternoon.
Paying an emotional tribute at his daughter’s funeral in St Patrick’s Church, Mayobridge, dad Cathal said he will never forget the short time they had together.
“Our beloved daughter Nicole was a bright shining light who enriched our lives everyday,” he said.
“She had a great circle of friends and we loved having them all at our home. There is no richer sound that a house full of the laughter of children.

“We will eternally miss you and we are grateful for the short time we had you. We will never forget you, our baby girl.”

Friends of Nicole laid memorabilia to commemorate her life, including tickets from a recent Little Mix concert.
Nicole leaves behind parents Cathal and Margo, as well as brothers Jason and Jamie.
Another 14-year-old girl sustained a broken leg in the incident over the weekend.
