Police are appealing for information after a robbery at a Newry shop on Saturday evening.
The Today’s Local store at Whitegates was closed after the incident, which happened at around 6.30pm.
Police say the staff and owner – or the local community – did not deserve to be targeted in this way as they release a description of the culprit.
He is described as being around six feet one inch tall and of slim build.
He was wearing a black jacket with hood and a white cord, blue jeams and white trainers.
The robber also wore a dark coloured hat with a scarf pulled around his face, and had red gloves.
Police in Newry appealed for help and urged: “If you have seen this male in the area, live locally and have CCTV or a dash cam or have ANY information to assist please call 101 quoting ref: 1039 03/02/18.”
