The McDonald’s restaurant in Newry is in line for a make-over – both inside and out – while there are also plans in the pipeline at Lurgan.
The unit, at Damolly Retail Park, looks set to be extended.
And there are plans to have two drive-thru lanes – separated by an island – running side by side.
In addition, there would be a new ‘fast forward’ ordering booth provided, while a ‘goalpost height restrictor’ will be included.
The premises would also be extended slightly, and a new-folded roof concept employed. A sliding entrance door will be added.
A new folded roof is also planned at the McDonalds in Lurgan.
The premises, at Edward Street in the town, would also benefit from a second drive-thru lane for added convenience and faster turnaround.
A planning application for that development will be advertised next week after being forwarded to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.
The outlet at the Meadows in Portadown closed earlier this month as the drive-thru there is also changed to two-lanes.
There are plans too for changes at the Rushmere Shopping Centre outlet.
An application for the works at Damolly Retail Park have been submitted to Newry, Mourne and Down Distict Council for consideration, with a decision expected in the coming months.
