Final call for Southern Area Hospice Donard Day walk

Southern Area Hospice Services have issued a final call for people to get registered for their upcoming Donard Day Fundraising Event which takes place on Saturday, August 18.

Southern Area Hospice and main sponsor CRASH Services are looking for adventurous souls to take part. Walkers will set off from the Slieve Donard Car Park at 10am to begin their ascent of Slieve Donard, Northern Ireland’s Highest Peak.

There will be qualified guides on hand to lead walkers up and down the mountain and plenty of encouragement provided along the way.

After the walk participants can look forward to light refreshments in Hugh McCann’s to refuel.

Participants are asked to pay a registration fee of £10 and raise at least another £40 in sponsorship.

The walk will last approximately five hours and so a reasonable fitness level will be required by anyone wishing to participate in this challenge. This challenge is open to people aged 16 and over.

All the money raised through Donard Day will help Southern Area Hospice Services to continue their work providing care and support to local people who are living with Cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, such as Multiple Sclerosis and Motor Neurone Disease.

Why not get your friends or family together and come along and support your local Hospice?
