The Southern Health and Social Care Trust has hosted a family fun day for foster and kinship carers at the Ballybannon Farm, Castlewellan.
The Family Placement Service organised the event and 153 foster carers, kinship carers and children attended from across the area.
The event included a drumming workshop, face painting, a magician and a BBQ which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
Colm McCafferty, Assistant Director of Corporate Parenting for the Southern Trust, said: “Foster carers provide stable nurturing homes for children and young people who cannot remain with their own families.
“This event gave our carers a very much deserved chance to unwind and enjoy a family day out while having the opportunity to spend time with other carers and learn from each other’s experiences.
“These events are really important in helping to build relationships and a sense of community among our carers.”
The Southern Trust would like to thank The Northern Ireland Executive Social Investment Fund (SIF) Southern Zone ‘Work It’ training and employment programme, for part funding the event.
