Four masked men armed with shotgun ransack Newry home

Detectives are appealing for information following the report of an aggravated burglary at a property in Newry in the early hours of this morning, Saturday, January 27.

Detective Sergeant Lewis said: “Shortly before 1.50am, it was reported that approximately three or four masked and armed men, one believed to be carrying a shotgun, entered the house on the Belfast Road and threatened the residents.

“The men ransacked the house before making off with a quantity of cash in the direction of the A1

“The residents were uninjured however damage was caused to a window and items of furniture

“Enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who may have any information or CCTV, doorbell or other footage that could assist with the investigation, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference 143 of 27/01/24.”
