Five people have been arrested after shots were fired at a house in Newry last night (Monday).
Detectives are appealing for witnesses after the shots were fired at the house in the Altmore Gardens area of the city around 9.20pm.
No injuries were reported.
Police have arrested four men and a woman during follow up inquiries. They also seized two cars.
Sinn Fein councillor Liz Kimmins said: “This was a extremely reckless act which endangered the lives of those in the house. There is a genuine anger locally about this criminal act.
“Our community is fortunate that we’re not dealing with a tragedy.
She added: “There is no place for guns on our streets. Anyone with information should contact the PSNI”.
A PSNI spokesperson asked anyone with information to “please call 101 quoting reference 1408 26/03/18”.
