An engagement ring stolen during a burglary last year has been recovered by police.
Detectives, alongside officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team, searched a property in the Newry area this morning (Wednesday).
Detective Constable McGaffin said “a proactive policing operation” was conducted at the house in the Newry area, as part of the ongoing investigation following a burglary which at the Keery Road area of Bready, in Co Tyrone, on May 19 last year.
The officer added: “During the search operation, an engagement ring was recovered from the property believed to have been taken during the burglary last year.
“A quantity of suspected Class B controlled drugs and a mobile phone were also seized and taken away for further forensic examination.
“It is extremely pleasing to be able to reunite the owner with her possession. An engagement ring is an extremely personal and sentimental item, and the owner was delighted with this outcome.
“Our enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to any of these incidents to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1835 19/05/20.
