House ransacked and money stolen during Newry burglary

A resident returned home to find the back door had been forced open

A house was ransacked and money stolen during a burglary in Newry.

It happened in the Loughorne Road area on Thursday and detectives are appealing for information.

Detective Sergeant Lewis said: “We received a report at 10.30am that a resident had returned to his property to find that the back door had been forced open and the property ransacked.

“A sum of cash was missing.

“The burglary is believed to have occurred between 9.30am and the time of report, and we would appeal to anyone who was in the area at that time and may have noticed anything suspicious to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 502 of 17/04/25.”
