Detectives from Serious Crime Branch have charged a man with belonging to or professing to belong to a proscribed organisation.
The 34-year-0ld has also been charged with conspiracy to possess explosives with intent to endanger life, preparation of terrorist acts and receiving training or instruction in the making or use of weapons for terrorism.
He is expected to appear before Newry Magistrates Court tomorrow, Monday, October 24.
As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
The charges are in connection with significant and serious terrorist offences detected during an investigation by Serious Crime Branch on November 10, 2014 at a house in the Ardcarn Park area of Newry, when 12 men were arrested.
The man due to appear in court tomorrow was arrested in the Belfast area on Friday.
