A Newry man has been charged following a violent assault in the city last November.
Detectives in Ardmore have charged the 34-year-old man with a number of offences including grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to cause an indictable offence.
He is expected to appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, July 5.
The charges relate to an assault in the Bridge Street area of Newry in November 2022.
As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
