A man accused of a litany of burglaries will face Crown Court proceedings in the New Year.
On one of the charges, the 40-year-old is alleged to have stolen a PS3 and an Xbox from a youth club in Kilkeel.
John Connors, of Moatview in Killmead, Co Kildare, appeared via videolink from Maghaberry facing 18 charges at Newry Magistrates’ Court.
The accused is charged with five counts of burglary of a dwelling, burglary of a non-dwelling, three counts of burglary with intent to steal, two counts of possession of an offensive weapon, theft, three counts of attempted theft, criminal damage, assault with intent to resist arrest and breach of bail.
As the charges were read, it was heard these offences were alleged to have been committed between January 21 and January 24, 2015.
The defendant is accused of burgling properties in Kilkeel, Annalong, Rostrevor and Poyntzpass.
This includes the alleged burglary of Kingdom Youth Club in Kilkeel with a PS3 and Xbox being taken.
Appearing via videolink, Connors made no objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.
Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.
Defence barrister Conor Byrne made no contrary submissions.
District Judge Peter Magill, satisfied there was a prima facie case to answer, remanded the defendant in custody to appear before Newry Crown Court on January 7 for arraignment.
