A man accused of possession of multiple indecent images of child will face Crown Court proceedings.

Ryan J Morgan, 28, of Kinghill Road in Cabra, appeared facing 36 charges at Newry Magistrates’, sitting at Lisburn, on Wednesday via videolink from his solicitor’s office.

The accused is charged with 29 counts of possession of an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child, four counts of possession of a prohibited image of a child and three counts of possession of an extreme pornographic image.

As the charges were read, it was heard that the offences are all alleged to have occurred on January 30, 2018.

Appearing before the court, the defendant made no objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.

Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.

Defence barrister Kevin O’Hare made no contrary submissions.

District Judge Amanda Brady released Morgan on continuing bail of £250 to appear before Newry Crown Court on a date to be fixed.

Conditions of this bail included; not to have unsupervised contact with persons under 18 without Social Service being aware and no to have access to the internet.
